The Children’s Pastor will provide leadership and oversight to ensure the most effective Children’s Ministry possible in alignment with the mission, vision, core values and ministry practices of The Naz. 
The Children’s Pastor will work in partnership with the Youth Pastor so that the team may focus on the increasing importance and Biblical example of developing Godly, holy and healthy families.

Job Classification: Full Time                                 Reporting to: The Executive Pastor

Core Responsibilities:
1. Provide vision, strategy, and development for all Children’s Ministry environments (birth-5th grade)
Develop safe, clean, fun, positive learning environments for all children’s programming which nurtures the spiritual growth and development of children’s relationship with Jesus Christ.
Regularly point children and families to Christ and provide regular opportunities to pray for forgiveness and salvation.
Reviews, selects Christ-centered curriculum for Large Group / Small Group environments based upon the age appropriate needs of all age groups and oversees the curriculum implementation.
Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget and comply with financial procedures as stated by the Treasurer.
Regularly communicate with parents on upcoming events, programs, and other children’s ministry offerings.  Support parents by providing resources and materials to use at home with their children.
Plan, prepare and execute strategic and intentional Parent/Family events that equip parents to fulfill their role as spiritual leaders.
In conjunction with Youth Pastor: Communicate and collaborate to facilitate the spiritual growth and maturity of children/teens in our church and community.
Responsible for check-in procedures and tracking weekly attendance.
Provide care for children and families within the church including hospital visits and follow-up. 
Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.
Oversee childcare for all-church events as directed.

2. Provide leadership, direction, and training for all Children’s Ministry staff.
Recruit and oversee all early childhood volunteers providing leadership, training, and appreciation.
Provide schedule and ongoing training of a solid team of volunteers who are fit to carry out the mission, vision, and goals of The Naz and Children’s Ministry programs.
Communicate verbally and in writing the expectations and responsibilities of each volunteer role.  Equip them with knowledge, tools, and skills to create an environment of excellence.
Prepare (or oversee others) in supply preparation.
Train leaders to understand and constructively implement acceptable reward and disciplinary practices.

3. Embrace a team approach with the staff at The Naz.
Assist and participate in all-church functions as needed.
Support other church ministry areas for the overall good of the families and members of the church.
Represent The Naz and establish great relationships with parents and families in the church and the community
General pastoral responsibilities (weddings, funerals, sacraments etc.)  as needed and other duties as may be assigned.
