The Director of Children’s Ministries provides leadership for Children’s Ministries (birth through 5th grade) at the Shawnee Mission Campus, working with the campus staff to further the overall mission of Christ Community by providing excellent age-appropriate Sunday morning programs and by supporting and equipping parents in the spiritual formation of their children.

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support and equip parents and families in forming their children’s growth in Christ
  • Implement programming for children
  • Participate in campus team meetings
  • Develop and oversee Children’s Ministries Teams
    • Recruit and schedule volunteers
    • Conduct volunteer orientation and child protection training
    • Coach and supervise volunteers and Children’s Ministries staff
    • Recognize and appreciate volunteers
    • Evaluate existing and new ministry opportunities
  • Collaborate with Children’s Ministries staff on other campuses
  • Develop and manage the Campus Children’s Ministries budget and resources
  • Supervise campus child care for Razors Leadership Pathway and other church programs

Educational requirements:

Formal education and/or experience in child development
