Pathway Church is seeking a full-time Director of Children’s Ministry with at least three years of experience. This person will provide vision and direction for a vibrant, growing children’s ministry while recruiting, equipping and working with the multiple volunteer teams and leaders involved in this ministry area. This person will also work with the part-time children’s ministry staff while also working as part of a supportive staff team. 

Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities: ·         Paid Children’s Ministry Assistants ·         Royal Academy Preschool Director ·         Children’s Ministry Volunteers General Responsibilities: ·        Provide vision, leadership and oversight for the children’s ministry. ·        Supervise paid staff (children’s ministry assistants and Royal Academy Director). ·        Develop teams to assist with the tasks of operating an active children’s ministry program. ·        Recruit and provide ongoing training and development for leaders and workers within the children’s ministry. ·        Give oversight, direction and leadership to the AWANA program. ·        Provide innovation to existing ministries and in the development of new ministry. ·        Offer periodic special events for children (e.g. Fall Festival). ·        Offer pastoral care to children in conjunction with other ministry staff. ·        Oversee the selection of all teaching materials and provide training in the use of them. ·        Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of programs and events, making changes as necessary. ·        Ensure the safety and security of the activities of the children’s ministry. ·        Actively pursue continuing training and education to stay current with children’s ministry methods, materials and strategy.

Educational requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry or elementary education.

Experience requirements:

Minimum of three years experience in directing a children’s ministry.  Commitment to continuing training and education.

  • Able to set a compelling vision for the children’s ministry based on our purposes as a church, and lead others effectively in the accomplishment of that vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip and lead ministry systems and staff (paid and volunteer).
 

Qualifications:

·         Personal: A call to children’s ministry and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of professionalism.  A person of irreproachable character. ·         Leadership: Able to set a compelling vision for the children’s ministry based on our purposes as a church, and lead others effectively in the accomplishment of that vision.  ·         Management: Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip and lead ministry systems and staff (paid and volunteer). ·         Team-Oriented: Team player who is able to work cooperatively with the overall staff team and in conjunction with the overall church vision. ·         Theological: Doctrinal unity with the statement of faith of Pathway Church.
